Members of The International Committee on Allergic Diseases of Animals (ICADA) have published two important Consensus and Guideline Papers in BioMed Central Veterinary Research:

BishkekThe Global Veterinary Dermatology Education Group (GVDEG) a non-profit organization and affiliated member of the WAVD provided an educational seminar focused in veterinary dermatology to 120 veterinarians and students in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan, in May. This was the very first seminar in the field of veterinary medicine in Bishkek and veterinarians from neighboring countries such as Kazakhstan, were among the many participants.

WCVD8 Scholarships

The World Association for Veterinary Dermatology (WAVD) is proud to announce that the scholarships for WCVD8 in 2016 are now open for application. WAVD has increased the number of scholarships available for financial support to encourage veterinarians with limited access to continuing education in veterinary dermatology to attend WCVD8. 30 scholarships will be funded for 2016.

Sydney, Australia has been awarded the 9th World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology to be held on 20 - 24 October, 2020. Dr. Kenneth Kwochka, WAVD President, noted during the announcement that "The 2008 Congress in Hong Kong was a tremendous success for growth of the specialty in Asia.  Returning to Australasia in 2020 will help continue to fulfill our mission for the worldwide advancement of veterinary dermatology. The World Congress of Veterinary Dermatology held since 1989, is the preeminent specialty conference in veterinary medicine. It is supported and planned by all WAVD Member, Affiliate and Provisional Organizations around the globe."

The American Academy of Veterinary Dermatology (AAVD) presented the 2014 and 2015 Frank Kr├íl Award for Achievements in Veterinary Dermatology to two veterinarians who have demonstrated outstanding achievements and dedicated service to the veterinary profession and specialty of veterinary dermatology. The awardees, Craig E. Griffin, DVM, and James O. Noxon, DVM, were recognized at the recent North American Veterinary Dermatology Forum in Nashville.

Latin American Conference

2015 CONGRESS OF THE LATIN AMERICAN SOCIETY OF VETERINARY DERMATOLOGY BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA

The Third Congress of the Latin American Society of Veterinary Dermatology will be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on November 26th and 27th 2015. Eighteen speakers from 10 countries will conduct two simultaneous educational sessions throughout the meeting: one for basic dermatology topics for general practitioners and one for advanced topics for veterinarians specialized or focused on dermatology. The congress venue is at the Circulo Oficiales de Mar which offers easy access and outstanding facilities for the event.

The 27th Annual Congress of the European Society of Veterinary Dermatology and European College of Veterinary Dermatology took place from 11-13 September 2014, in Salzburg, Austria. Both organizations are Members of the World Association for Veterinary Dermatology. Invited speakers included experts in human and veterinary dermatology from all around the world.

The American College of Veterinary Dermatology, a Founding Member Organization of WAVD, recently conducted its third annual ACVD Dermatology Outreach Program in Post Falls, Idaho in the United States. ACVD Diplomates, Drs. Paul Bloom and Linda Messinger, provided 3 days of continuing education in veterinary dermatology to general practitioners.
